The BREATH. Right, you say, I breathe all the time. That’s too easy. My reply: “conscious” breathing is way different. Soooo, wherever you are, get into a safe, comfortable place (don’t do this while driving). Sit, or lie down. Slowly close your eyes. Take a big breath IN, filling your lungs as full as you can. Notice how your chest expands, stretching and relaxing the muscles in your upper back, arms and chest. Then exhale out all the air, slowly. Feel yourself sink into whatever you are sitting or lying on. Repeat this 5 times, following the breath with your mind’s eye. Slowly. Now, slowly open your eyes. Note how you are feeling. Take a minute, then resume your activity. Practice makes perfect. Enjoy the relaxation!
